Scholarship Overview

Benazir (EHSAAS) Undergraduate Scholarship

The Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship Project (BUSP), formerly known as the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship, is a need-and-merit based program by the Government of Pakistan & Higher Education Commission (HEC). It aims to help students from low-income families who have secured undergraduate admissions in public sector universities but are unable to continue due to financial constraints. Scholarship benefits include full tuition fee coverage + incidental charges (registration, exam, library fees, etc.) + a monthly stipend.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Admission secured on merit only in a recognized 4- or 5-year undergraduate program in a public sector university. 2. Family income limit: Monthly income not more than PKR 45,000 (or whatever the current figure is) for low-income family criterion. 3. Not availing any other scholarship or grant when you apply. 4. Regular program, not self-finance / self-support / evening / distance learning options. These are excluded. 5. Age limit as per institution’s rules (basically you must not be above the max age allowed for newly entering undergraduate students in your university). 6. 50% of seats reserved for female students; 2% reserved for differently-abled students.

Application Process

Applications are made online via the HEC portal / Ehsaas Scholarship System. After filling the online form, relevant supporting documents must be submitted (often to the Financial Aid / Scholarship Office of your university). There is usually institutional verification / scrutiny (sometimes an interview through the university) for things like income proof etc.
