Sindh Educational Endowment Scholarship

The Scholarship is part of the Sindh Educational Endowment Fund Trust (SEEF), which is run by the Sindh Government to help students from Sindh who are needy but meritorious, by providing financial assistance for higher education. At University of Sindh (USindh), this is shown under “Sindh Educational Endowment Scholarship” in the annual breakdown of scholarships disbursed by the Student Financial Aid Office. In 2024, USindh awarded 192 SEEF scholarships, totaling PKR 4,224,000 under this scholarship.

Domicile Must be a permanent resident / domiciled in Sindh. Institution / University Must be enrolled in a SEEF -approved university or institution. Regular/full-time/programs only. Self-finance, part-time, executive/distance learning often excluded. Academic performance Minimum GPA or marks: usually 2.5 CGPA or 60% marks or equivalent. Income / Financial Need Proof of low family income is required. Usually via Income Certificate issued/certified by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) or FBR. There are defined income brackets. Quotas / Reserved Seats Some quotas are reserved: orphans; children of government employees; students with special needs; minorities; sometimes “poor but meritorious” etc. Ineligibility Students on self-finance / part-time / distance learning schemes; outside the SEEF approved panel; those who have dropped out or passed out; foreign admissions etc.

SEEF publishes advertisement notices via newspapers, government / college education department websites. Applications are submitted through your institution / university (i.e. the university you are enrolled in) which must be on the SEEF panel. Required documents include: proof of admission, academic record (transcripts/GPA or previous results), CNIC / B-Form, domicile certificate / PRC, income certificate verified by competent authority (Assistant Commissioner Revenue or FBR etc.), sometimes service certificate if parent is government employee. There is an interview / institutional review / verification committee. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed; after verification and merit selection, the final list is approved by SEEF Board / Directorate. If already receiving the scholarship, one may apply for renewal, provided academic performance and other criteria are met.
