NOP scholars benefit from the multicultural environment, capable faculty, enlightening studies, rich campus environment and exceptional and prestigious NOP-focused enhancement opportunities at LUMS to build a solid foundation for life-long learning and success. Joining the most rigorous university in the country and then the most rigorous program at that university, NOP students ascend to the pinnacle of higher education in the country. This personal transformation and experience form the foundation for their social contributions: today, NOP alumni are spread across continents and form a cadre of impactful change-makers who are an asset to their communities and to the entire nation.
At least 80% marks in Matric or equivalent in O-Levels Financial need Students shortlisted based on the above criteria are invited to the NOP Summer Coaching Session, where they will attempt different exercises and tests. Students are evaluated on their performance at the Summer Coaching Session and are registered for the entrance test, which is completely paid for by LUMS. Finally, students who apply to LUMS and qualify on merit, are offered admission on full scholarship. All students, irrespective of whether they apply directly or through the NOP programme, are evaluated on the same admission criteria. While assessing financial need, a review committee ensures transparency in the process of awarding scholarships to all those who qualify for admission (this review is conducting annually during a student's study tenure)
The NOP team visits schools/colleges in various cities, towns and villages all over Pakistan to give presentations about the LUMS National Outreach Programme. Students send their applications for the NOP Summer Coaching Session to LUMS and the shortlisted students are invited on campus in the summer to experience university life at LUMS. Students hoping to attain the NOP scholarship apply for admission to LUMS along with other regular students. Students take the Admissions Test, which is funded by LUMS. Based on the financial need assessment, admitted students are offered a fully-funded scholarship in the LUMS undergraduate programmes.
